The mission of the Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology is to regulate the instruction and practice of cosmetology and related professions by establishing rules and regulations relating to qualifications for licensure and procedures for the administration of examination prior to licensure, and by establishment of rules and regulations setting forth sanitation requirements for the operation of cosmetological establishments, for the benefit of the consumer and for the public health.
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2021 Board MEETING MOVED TO RIDGELAND
The Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology Board Meeting is Monday, February 22, 2021, at Embassy Suites, 200 Township Place, Ridgeland, MS, 39167 in the Colony Board Room*. All agenda requests must be postmarked no later than February 16, 2021. COVID-19 building protocol requires that all in attendance wear a face mask and follow social distancing guidelines.
*Due to winter storm utility outages in the downtown Jackson area, the 2/22/2021 Board Meeting has been moved from the Robert E. Lee Building in Jackson, MS, to Embassy Suites in Ridgeland, MS.

UNDER TESTING TAB, THEORY TESTING, CLICK REQUEST APPROVAL FOR THEORY TESTING.
After completing, you will receive an email from Prometric with username, password, and instructions to schedule your theory exam.
FACE MASKS ARE REQUIRED AT ALL TESTING SITES. CANDIDATES WITHOUT A FACE MASK WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO TEST OR RECEIVE A REFUND.
MSBC office now open, resumes normal hours
As of 8/4/2020 per MSBC Board decision:
The Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology office is open to the public Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM and currently admitting 2 visitors at-a-time in the office. All visitors must adhere to Covid-19 guidelines which include: wearing a face mask, washing hands with soap and water before entry, use of hand sanitizer, and maintaining 6 feet of social distance.
